It took me a long time to jump on the bullet journal bandwagon. To be perfectly honest, I had no idea how to even start. I saw pictures of all of these elaborate spreads and charts, and I didn’t think I could do anything even close to that. However, after hearing over and over again how relaxing it is, and how it makes it easier to stay organized, I decided to give it a try. So, I thought I’d share some pictures of my journal, and the way I use it to stay organized. (Keep in mind there are hundreds of different ways to use a bullet journal, which is what makes it so much fun to customize!)
1). A cute notebook
Part of what makes me excited to use my bullet journal is having a cute notebook to use! I found this one at Target:
2). Important dates chart
This one is huge for me; I have so many birthdays/anniversaries/etc to remember, it’s helpful to have them all written down in one place.
3). “Chuck it in the #!&$ it bucket, and move on”
Okay, this is probably my favorite page-ha! Honestly, if there’s something on my mind I can’t do anything about, and it’s eating away at me, I write it here, and I feel so much better. Maybe it’s a psychological thing, but it works!
4). Cleaning schedule
When life gets busy, it can be hard to remember everything you need to do to keep your house or apartment clean. This way, I know what I need to do daily, weekly, and monthly.
5). Monthly outline
At the beginning of each month, I write down a to-do list, important events, and goals. It keeps me on track, and at the end of the month, I always feel great when I’ve checked everything off.
6). Daily spreads
This is typically what I do for a day-to-day planner. I have 4 sections; tasks, events, thoughts, and self-care. This way, I keep myself accountable for what I need to do, where I have to be, and taking care of myself.
You can find so many different ways to design a bullet journal; and I love scrolling through Pinterest for inspiration. And, don’t forget to add a little color and decoration! Do you use a bullet journal? If you do, what are your favorite things to put in it?
