Do you ever find yourself feeling stuck? Uninspired? Unmotivated? The truth is, it happens to most people more often than we realize. For me, there are days where I feel so drained from working, starting a business, and doing theatre, all at the same time! In this week’s blog post, I wanted to share the 5 tips and tricks I use for hitting the reset button, and getting myself back in the headspace to keep moving forward.
1). Listen to inspirational music or podcasts
This on is HUGE for me. I have a certain playlist I go to when I know I need to completely change my mindset. I also will listen to one of my favorite podcasts right now, The Freddie and Alyssa Show. They’re always so full of knowledge and positivity, it’s contagious!
2). Get some fresh air
In the middle of a stressful day, one of my easy go-to’s is simply getting outside for 5-10 minutes. There’s something about fresh air and sunshine that gives you those few minutes to rejuvenate and get back on track for the day.
3). Recall a memory
This is a trick I learned from content creator Alyssa Tabit. (www.alyssatabit.com) One of my favorite ways to change my mindset in the moment is to recall a happy memory. Start by remembering the place and people involved. Then, remember the sounds smells, and anything else you can. From there, think of one word that describes how this memory makes you feel. Whenever you need a little pick-me-up, you can think about that word, and the memory will come flooding back to you.
4). Remind yourself that it’s okay to have off days
Nobody gets it right every second of every day. Instead of getting frustrated, remind yourself that it’s okay to not be okay. Focus on getting through that day, and know tomorrow will be better. (Even Beyonce has bad days, I promise!)
5). Unwind
This one is also very important for me. At the end of a long day, I want to just crawl into bed. However, if I take the time to drink some tea, read a few pages of a book, or watch a few minutes of my favorite tv shows, I give myself the time to relax so I can get a good night’s sleep.
What tricks do you have for staying inspired and motivated? Share them below; I’d love to hear!
