When was the last time you got enough sleep? What about the last time you had enough water for the day, or got you servings of fruits and veggies? I get it, Instagram can make health and fitness seem complicated. But friend, it doesn’t have to be! Let me share with you some of the basics you can start doing right now, that make all the difference in your overall health and well-being.
1). Get 7-9 hours of sleep
Sleep helps with so many things including muscle recovery, and brain function. The more tired you are, the less sharp you are during the day! And, if you’re actively training in the gym, your muscles don’t recover as quickly without adequate sleep.
2). Eat your fruits and veggies
This can be huge, ya’ll, Fruits and veggies have so many nutrients in them, and they do wonders for your overall well-being.
3). Drink more water
Staying hydrated is SO important, for so many reasons! We’re made up of mostly water, so when we sweat or release water, we have to replenish it. And, water and salt have a direct relationship with one another; they need each other in order for the body to absorb them properly!
4). Move your body for at least 30 minutes, 4 times a week
Even if that means simply going for a walk after work, physical activity is so important! As we age, it keeps us actiVe and mobile, and starting to get in the habit at an early age can be a game changer.
5). Stretch daily
If you’re someone who sits at a desk all day, you know how important stretching can be! Stretching helps keep our muscles conditioned and loose to help prevent injuries.
