My Skincare Routine

Raise your hand if you’re one of those people with the “mask-ne” or stress acne from the last year. Friend, you’re not alone. I’ve spent the last year desperately trying to figure out how to get my skin under control, because it was so bad. No matter what I did, the acne kept surfacing. Part of it was the hot air being constantly pressed up against my face from the mask, the other part was the overall stress. But, I finally got it under control! So, in this week’s blog post, I’m sharing my tips for keeping your skin healthy and glowing!

1). Use was skin care line, and stick to it!

I’ve always been a Proactiv gal. Their 3 step system makes it so easy to keep a routine in place, and their mask doubles as an overnight spot treatment. I’ve since branched out to using their cleanser that’s a little more medicated at night to really get all the oil and dirt out of my pores.

2). Always take your makeup off at the end of the day

I know, we’ve all done it. But, falling asleep with makeup on is one of the worst things you can possibly do for your skin! So, keep makeup wipes on hand, and wash your face before turning in for the day.

3). Use a face mask 2-3 times a week

I found this is what was really helpful for me, because it was like giving my whole face a refresh in a matter of 15 minutes! I’d pick a few nights a week to use my mask, and it really made a difference

4). Use hydrogen peroxide on acne prone areas

Okay, hear me out on this one. I know it sounds weird, but this is what really moved the needle in getting my skin clear! I’d take a cotton ball, and apply it to my chin and cheeks mostly, because that’s where my problem areas were.

5). If you can go without makeup, do it!

I know we like to be made up when we leave the house, but trust me, letting your skin breathe is so much more important! Try and stick to just eye makeup, and give your skin a change to air.
