Whenever we talk about romance, we tend to think about relationships & love. This is absolutely valid; romance is a big part of relationships and falling in love! But, what if instead of romanticizing relationships, what if we found ways to romanticize our everyday lives? In this week’s blog, I’m sharing what that means, and how you can start doing it.
The best way I can describe romanticizing your life is finding the joy, especially in the little things. Think about it; why do we consider relationships to be so romantic? We see everything we experience in a relationship as something to be excited about, whether that be a first date, the process of falling in love, and everything else that comes with it. The key is to translate that into our everyday lives.
For me, it’s largely about finding the joy in the little things. One of my favorite things is to start my morning with my goal journal and a cup of coffee. I get so excited every morning when I wake up, because I know that’s the first thing I’m going to do. To me, that’s romantic. Driving with my car windows down on my way to work to let all that fresh air in gets me excited. Do you see where I’m going with this? The key is to find those things that make you unexplainably happy, and make sure you’re doing them!
I think the problem so many people find themselves in is getting caught up in the mundane things. They feel like they’re in a rut, and don’t know how to get out of it. But, by finding those little things that bring us joy, we can get ourselves out of that rut, and focus on enjoying our lives! This is by no means saying that life is going to be perfect, or that everything will always go our way. But, when things don’t, it’s easier to not focus on them.
The bottom line is, it’s our job to romanticize our lives. When we take the time to do so, it makes us so much happier and lighter, because we are choosing to find the joy in everyday activities! What are things you can find joy in every day? I hope this has given you some inspiration, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!
