3 Lessons I Learned from Hamilton

Last week, I had the opportunity to go see one of my favorite musicals; Hamilton. It was amazing to be back seeing live theatre for the first time in 18 months! As I was watching the show, some of the story and lyrics hit a little differently than the first time I saw the show on Disney + (which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it!) So, in this week’s blog, I wanted to share what some of those “a-ha’s” were, and how they can relate to your fitness journey, or any journey!

1). Everyone Starts Somewhere

Whether you’re just starting something, fitness related or not, we all have to start somewhere. The body builder you see in the gym didn’t just start bench pressing 200 lbs, or start doing Romanian Deadlifts with 100 lbs. They had to start from the bottom and work their way up. You don’t just go from zero to one hundred when it comes to eating healthy; they started with smaller shifts and worked their way up. Everyone has to start somewhere, and work their way up.

2). “I’m not falling behind, or running late”

This is a lyric from the song “Wait for It.” This line resonates with me so much, because I feel like we all have this idea that we should be doing more than we are, even when we’re already doing so much!

3). Do Something that makes you feel Fulfilled

Alexander Hamilton did work that was fulfilling to him, and that’s a lesson we all should learn! Doing work that is meaningful to us makes life that much more enjoyable.

Which one of these resonates with you the most? Let me know in the comments, or come over and let me know on Instagram @alexandraraye05
